New innovation: COD reduction improved by further 50 percent!

"We are helping to make even more industries wastewater-free!", Uwe Hanschke, head of application technology at H2O GmbH, is visibly proud of the new innovation. Because worldwide, the limits for the chemical oxygen demand (COD) for the reuse and discharge of polluted industrial wastewater are becoming increasingly strict. This value measures the pollution of wastewater with organic substances, such as oils.

Therefore, the application center for wastewater-free production from H2O GmbH has developed a technology that drastically reduces the COD value drastically. "We achieve fantastic values with our new Purecat technology. The COD value in the wastewater is reduced by 99 percent! This means that even very strict limit values can be complied with," explains Hanschke and adds "in order to minimize the COD value to such an extent that the treated water can be reused in production or discharged, complex processes were usually necessary in the past. Often, maintenance- and cost-intensive activated carbon filters had to be used for post-treatment. Users of Purecat now save themselves that completely." This means: in contrast to activated carbon, lower operating costs, higher process reliability and more time for the essentials.

As early as 2006, the company launched a COD-reducing technology on the market. The Clearcat condensation stage achieved very good COD reduction, but often lacked the last bit to meet the values. The Purecat technology puts the necessary icing on the cake and, in combination with Clearcat, reduces COD 50 percent further.
