H2O donates for clean water in Ethiopia

With our Christmas donation we help the non-profit association Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli e.V. again this year. The organisation is committed to ensuring that all people worldwide have access to clean DRINKING WATER. The core project countries are currently Ethiopia, Uganda and Nepal.

This year we support Viva con Agua in the water projects in Ethiopia.

Despite positive developments in recent years, Ethiopia is still one of the economically weakest countries in the world. This is also illustrated by the fact that only 63.7% of the population has an adequate connection to a drinking water supply (source: Viva con Agua). For Viva con Agua, this is the motivation to continuously support water projects in Ethiopia since 2006.

"All for water - water for all"

The projects are located in both rural and urban areas. Ethiopia is strongly characterised by agriculture and yet the major cities are also growing. True to its motto "ALL FOR WATER - WATER FOR ALL", the Viva con Agua team is working hard to promote the supply of drinking water and access to sanitation in the newly emerging outlying districts. Especially in the city of Bahir Dar in the north of the country, the organisation supports projects to make schools in the city cleaner and have access to drinking water.
